REVEALED AT REHA - Sunday, December 11th, 2005
Minivator took the opportunity to showcase its latest product developments at REHA this year. Sales Director Tony Mercer reported “We were delighted by the response to our latest round of product improvements. Our new 45º internal helix allows us to accommodate more staircases, particularly in mainland Europe where the housing stock varies from that which we encounter in the UK. Minivator prides itself on listening to what our dealers tell us about the needs of their market place and acting on it. We have a dynamic and flexible R&D team so we can respond to requirements quickly; our flexibility in this area is highly valued by our client base.
We also displayed our new SpaceSaverâ„¢ seat which was welcomed by our dealers on a global scale. The improvements in the back to wall dimensions mean that Minivator Stairlifts are now suited for use in even more homes. Add to this the improved seat to footplate dimensions and new diagnostic LED display and its easy to see why Minivator dealers are so excited about working with us.”
Simplicity Sneak Preview Not to be outdone Sterling Stairlifts, the US division of Minivator, unveiled the group’s latest new product at Medtrade. “The Simplicity 950 was developed by Minivator in response to demands from the States for a lower specification model to challenge the economy products that prevail in this marketplace.” commented MD Mike Lord “Discussions with dealers at Orlando last year highlighted the need for a product that could not only compete in the lower price band but that went further by providing a high quality offering with safety features that aren’t normally found in this price bracket. Having identified a gap in the marketplace we initiated an intensive R&D program to fill the void with a product that meets the needs of this market sector.”
The Simplicity 950 was a great success at the show, dealers were both enthusiastic and relieved that they will have a high quality product that offers great value for money whilst being competitive at the lower end of the market. “Our aim was to produce something that is stylish yet simple and safe: judging by the response at the show we have succeeded” said David Hall Minivator’s Product Manager
The Simplicity 950 will be available in the US from February and forward requirements indicate it will be a fantastic start to the New Year for Sterling. General Manager Mark Blomfield reflected on 2005 to date, “Our growth rate has been phenomenal averaging 95% month on month: we have exceeded our expectations but given our level of service and the products that we offer its understandable. Having this new product in our range will allow us to penetrate another segment of the market; we are moving into 2006 with great opportunities in front of us and are looking forward to our third year being even more successful.”
